Chris Moorman is a class apart and revels in competing with himself. Even before he became familiar with the nuances of playing poker, he was adept at pool and bridge, and soon mastered both the games. He took to bridge like a fish takes to water, quite early in life when he was an 11-year old, while leading UK in a national competition. Not content with that, he went on to master pool and rose up to become captain of the University of Essex team. He brought laurels to his Alma mater by winning the National University Championship.

Moorman got initiated into poker when he chanced upon a free online weekly tournament, while he was still in his second year at the University of Essex. He instantly fell in love with the game and was intent on mastering the game of skill. Once he had mastered the game of poker, there was no stopping Moorman, who went on to win millions. He mastered the game and understood the nuances as well as intricacies of the game and was popularly known as Moorman 1 online.

Moorman’s Book of Poker

Not content with consistent winnings, he became the first player to achieve the milestone of $10 million in a lifetime online tournament. With numero uno ranking in the world of online poker, there was no stopping Moorman. He has been listed in the top 3 position in tournaments for an incredible 566 times. What probably inspired him to write this book was him being approached by leading publishers D & B Publishing who insisted that he should write a book on poker. Being quite skeptical in the beginning, Moorman browsed through some of the books published by them. He got so excited that he was about to write a book of his own on poker.

Surprisingly, Moorman had not even attempted any tutorial or video about poker, though he was being flooded with requests from people who wanted him to do just that. Although he hasn’t started writing as yet, he is to co-author the book with Byron Jacobs. The book is meant for anyone who wishes to take his/her game to the next level. He has been slogging at the game for the past seven to eight years, and is now ready to share his experiences with similar hard-working poker enthusiasts who wish to advance themselves in professional poker. After completing his current Vancouver and California tournaments, he believes that he will seriously start working full-time on the book, which he hopes to complete before the World Poker Series commence.

Moorman’s poker career

Moorman’s poker career is like a dream come true, though it was not an easy path to tread. He had to work very hard to master the nuances of the game and most importantly, he was ready to sweat it all. It was certainly not easy to achieve the $10-million milestone in a lifetime of online tournament winnings. However, he has metamorphosed to live poker from online poker quite easily and turned the latter into a huge success as well.

He even made it to the top 10 of the Global Poker Index, which is no mean achievement. He has also won over $2.9 million in live tournament winnings, though he has amassed several cashes and final tables all along the way with ease. He became popular enough to be feature in televised finals at the World Series of Poker Europe, Aussie Millions and the European Poker Tour, all of which he took in his stride.
